Semi-Private Fence

Semi-privacy fence offers mostly privacy while still allowing both airflow and light through the fence. It could be called semi-transparent and still affords good screening characteristics between neighbors or as a transition from a private space to a public space.

The picket spacing determines the ratio of privacy vs. airflow and light that's inherent in each style. Some semi-privacy fencing styles afford almost full privacy except for those who are standing right up next to the fence and peering through a space between the pickets.

It's a very nice alternative for those who would prefer to not have a solid wall privacy fence feel. Semi-privacy fence helps keep a property secure while allowing a more open-air feeling to the landscape architecture. It works great as a screen for a hot tub while not blocking the breezes to keep you cool. It's just right for the situation where an open picket style like Victorian is too open and the privacy fence style like Lexington is too closed.
